Although many fans, including Nostalgia Critic himself, dislike Etrigan's TNBA episode, arguing that the supernatural aspects of Klarion and Etrigan do not fit Batman's stories, I respectfully disagree. Not only does it make sense to see Batman collaborate with Etrigan (since both characters live in the same city), but it's also quite fascinating to see the Dark Knight forced to fight an enemy like Klarion, who, despite being just a child, is a threat completely outside of Bruce's comfort zone and one who possesses powers so extremely dangerous that he could even make Ra's al Ghul look ridiculous in comparison. In fact, it can be seen in "Batman Beyond" that Bruce still remembers Klarion with fear.

I like to think that the reason Klarion calls Etrigan "Uncle Jason" isn't simply because such familiarity pisses off the Demon, but because deep down the Witch Boy enjoys his company every time they meet and even considers him a father figure to hang out with. That being said, the relationship between Klarion and Etrigan would be one of the few in which the villain has for the hero an affection that is not caused by s*xual attraction and/or a prior intimate past with them

It's truly sad the actor who voiced Klarion died shortly after playing him. He truly captured the personality of the iconic Witch Boy, being on the same level as Thom Adcox-Hernandez, Klarion's voice in most media. Wish Klarion made more appearances in the DCAU, anyway

Yeah, I prefer it to "A Knight of Shadows," though I do appreciate "Knight" for its "Green-Lantern-and-yellow"-style stealth reference to Etrigan's comic-book weakness (iron). I'd have missed it entirely, except they (wisely IMO) gave Martian Manhunter better-focused abilities as a character on this show, so you almost never see him transform into a denser substance instead of turning intangible.

Something pretty interesting about "The Demon Within" is the friendly conversation Klarion and Tim share in the opening scene, as, in the comics continuity, both boys actually get along pretty well despite their different moralities, with Klarion even openly calling Tim his friend. That said, I wonder if Klarion ever told Tim about that time he kissed his girlfriend Stephanie Brown...

What I love most about Etrigan's TNBA episode is the fact that they directly adapted the original Klarion created by Jack Kirby in the 1970s. Although the later depictions of the character are pretty good, nothing could beat the white-skinned evil teenage brat obsessed with eating candy and committing antics from Kirby's comics. That said, it's a shame that the original Klarion made very few appearances before being completely rebooted with the post-Crisis continuity. It is at least a consolation that Jack Kirby's Klarion was featured in TNBA and other animated shows like "Young Justice" and "Justice League Action"

Thomas Carnacki was created by William Hope Hodgson in 1910. Thomas Carnacki is an occult detective, or "psychic investigator" who is called in to investigate psychic and or occult phenomena. Carnacki tended to use far more scientific equipment in his cases than his contemporaries. Among them is his "Electric Pentacle", a protective measure against supernatural entities. As the name suggests, it's an electrically charged pentacle that combines the principles of magic (the pentacle shape, which is historically a protective symbol) and science (the electrification of the pentacle). I gotta hand it too you, having a video talk about The Demon’s debut. Etrigan has been hero and villain, but no matter! Instill in fear was always the goal! Episodes in the DCAU were always fun. It’s a shame a live action film was never done. Etrigan is a cool character with a deep mythology and lore, but despite asking we don’t get more. Though maybe it’s just me? Do you agree? I just stumbled upon this channel, grew up with the DCAU and this channels content is pure quality. Etrigan is underrated, one of my favorite DC characters and favorite episodes from the DCAU. I hope Gunn adds him to the upcoming DCU. He has a chance to become a household name like the MCU did with Rocket, Drax, Dr Strange, etc. who wouldn’t love a rhyming demon?
