I did almost exactly the same job last week on my own tractor's seat, which looks identical - also a German tractor (Deutz Fahr). You were very restrained - I complained (and swore) a lot more than than you! No rodents either... I just took the air pump and electrics right out and put a Schrader valve directly onto the tiny (4 mm) air line of the air bladder. I can then use a portable air pump to adjust the seat - it really only needs adjusting once for a particular driver, if there are no air leaks. The ride height does adjust - you just pump it up until it's right for your weight and height. As well as the air bladder there's a damper in the seat, which stops you bouncing too much over bumps. Works well when it works!
