This 2009 Ford Fusion has an ABS light on with a C1095 code for the ABS pump motor circuit fault. We replace the valve and pump body with a used part and fix the car with no programming required. We also bleed the ABS and switch to DOT4 fluid.

Long or short, I just enjoy watching you work as you give the KZbin community a glimpse into your life as a mechanic, shop owner, husband and father. Whether it's a 2 minute "would you look at this" or a 2 hour 2 part battle through cobbled up, rust and neglect, I for one will always click to see what Wes has been up to.

Completely understandable with videos - balance it out. Had a 2009 Escape V6 I purchased for a few hundred bucks back in May. Clean southern vehicle. Engine spun a bearing. Replaced engine successfully (fun!) and decided to flush the fluids I hadn't touched. After finishing bleeding the brakes, I went for a test drive and found the brake pedal goes to the FLOOR. Activated a service bleed, still on the floor. Did a regular bleed, still going to the floor. Then my research on Google led me to thousands of posts about people's brake pedal going to the floor. Going onto Ford Service info and a KZbin video I learned about the ABS Modulator Valve assembly having 1 or more valves stick inside causing the fluid to circulate inside the modulator. I also learned the ABS Control Module can have solider joint failures internally which will cause com errors. Using my Autel Maxisys, I started using the bidirectional controls to test inlet/outlet valves and motors. After visiting 3 U Pull It yards, and piecing together a Control Module and a Modulator valve that both worked and were compatible with a 2009 (which meant lots of testing with the Autel), regular bleed, service bleed then regular bleed, I had a like new brake pedal. 2006-12 Fusions and 09-12 Escapes both suffer from the same issue, yet only the Fusions were recalled...

Had to do this like 6 months prior to this video and let me just say what a learning experience for me! I put in a new master and booster first on the fusion, which took 3 master cylinders to get a good one out of the box, then during all that the abs pump decided to conveniently shit out but throw no lights on the dash. Just zero brake pedal as if a bad master cylinder but i knew it was not. At the time there was nothing online about the pumps and modules. So i bought a good used pump on ebay and was pretty much just hoping id be able to swap the bad pump for the known used good one and leave my module as to not need reprogrammed. Was crazy cautious and cleanwhile swapping and thank the lord when it was all said and done and went through a ton of manual bleeding everything actually worked and the lights went off on the dash. By far it is the only brake job that had me completely scratching my head and helped me learn so much about the syatem ford used on these models

Keep working at that balance between You Tube and your working Garage. You will make it. Just don't stop giving us your commentary. It's what keeps me coming back. You are the only You Tuber I've said that to. Usually I'll say, "More work, less talk." But I love your humor and the way you always stop and answer your son's questions. And last but not least, when your son says. "Dad, Mom needs you," the video stops, goes black, and in a few seconds you are back in the saddle again after helping your beautiful assistant. You have your priorities in the right place. God bless you and stay safe.

I love this. my 09 Fusion has the SAME code. I’m a tech at a ford dealer and tried to get Ford to cover my HCU/ABS module under the recall for these cars. Same deal, have power and ground, everything checks out great, the issue is clearly in the HCU/ABS module yet Ford will not cover it. Been driving the car for a couple years without ABS… eventually I’ll grab one out of a junkyard car.

This sorta brought back memories of when I was a tech at the one Mazda/ VW Stealership. There was a campaign on the connector pins between the ABS motor and module on a particular Mazda that I was doing left and right. The typical '16th of a turn' on all the brake lines, pull the whole thing out as a unit, replace the module, motor, or just the retrofit pins/ seals depending on vin FWIR. Then the same usual deal with the scantool to actuate the pump for the bleeding process. Since it was a warranty job you had to bust ass on it or you'd be working for free of course. Oh the joys of flat rate warranty repairs.... LOL!!🤣 Good video Wes, solid work as always broski 🤙👍

@@WatchWesWork Interesting, makes senses. I think I have it because its a TRD off road it has that crawl control drive mode for if your stuck in sand of something like that. Needs to be able to run the brakes on its own, now that I think about probably how the windshield camera can activate the brakes if you don't slow down in time. Just lots to go wrong eventually. Going to be hard to get any newer vehicle with out all this stuff soon.
