This program, a joint presentation by the University of North Florida and Florida Community College at Jacksonville made possible by a grant from the Florida Department of Education, offers a close look at birds whose lives are spent close to the water, including loons, rails, herons, pelicans, and more. It discusses incidences of commensalism, mutualism, and parasitism among various water birds and the ways they evolved to avoid competing against each other for resources. It closes with a reflection on how human behavior is impacting the birds’ existence.
