Uncanny how those dogs can teleport. Uncanny how one espresso will melt all the snow in a neighbourhood. Uncanny how plastic water bottles continues to pop up all over the globe and yet defies human attempts at capture. Uncanny how you still managed to nail one down for posterity. ... Somewhere, deep in the 80's part of my brain I can hear the distant echo, bouncing off green jungle valley walls, of Arnold going "Stick aRound!"

Throw reg darts cheapies in the house that will get you precise. You are sticking the knives good!!! put a 2x2 or 4x4 accross target to set stuff on.

That was cool . Well done. If you want to continue practicing that I suggest perfecting the bottle flip first on a table, I noticed more often then not the bottle was flat angeling. I figured out the secret to doing a bottle flip I know this will sound weird but you want the bottle to rotate around the water without a lot of movement from the water itself, To accomplish this hold the bottle flat palmed so your wrist points to top still the bottle so its not sloshing when you go to flip the bottle you kinda snap rotate your wrist while your tossing it up when done properly the water will not move much so the bottle will face more straight up and down then sideways.
@Xolette8 жыл бұрын
The bottle flip for this challenge was key and easy to overlook when doing this challenge. Thanks for the advice!

@Xolette7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, me too-- rope dart would be great. Just don't have the time for my hobbies now with my baby! Especially with the nature of these outdoor sports (plus, it's too hot for her to be outside!)

Xolette , glad you are prioritizing your kid first. But really how old will your kid be before they start throwing, pretty sure everyone wants to know.

Ronny Bray Usually I've heard kids being allowed around 4 or 5... but a great thrower started his son at age 2 I believe. His KZbin channel is "bushido" something with several numbers at the end. Anyways, sometime around then when I think she's ready! I'm a believer in doing sports-like activities earlier rather than later!

xolette what kind of throw were you using? I know it is a no-spin throw but I've never seen it before and it looks good, do you think you could explain how to do it in one of your videos?
@Xolette8 жыл бұрын
It's most likely a hyrbid of a few of the styles of no spin throwing. Read more on Flying Steel's site: flyingsteel.com/throwing-info I love the Fedin Technique and try my best to replicate that throw... it's not exact. You can check my Fedin Playlist on my channel. It has some instructional videos from other KZbinrs to get you started. Yury Fedin has passed away but his daughter Olga has a channel. I'd love to explain it in a video-- but tackling it is complex. For now, I made this video explaining how to throw spikes, and it's pretty similar, though the grip is a bit different: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mHXKm3eaiJuCiqM

@TanaseAlexandru158 жыл бұрын
The problem to you on the first and the second day was that you were to close to the target. You didn't had enough time to react (to trough the knife) in the tird day you were a few steps back and that helped a lot, anyway that was a nice shot congrat. I like to watch your videos 😆
@Xolette8 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I couldn't stand farther back because of the short rope and I had to be that close to generate power with a rope dart throw. I was more comfortable with my normal throwing knives and able to stand farther back. The distance does help with reaction time!

I am not an expert but a bottle full of water would fly at constant speed and direction because the water wouldn't slosh around. Might make it easier to hit.

I don't think so... I found that a 1/4 full was perfect. I tried 1/2 full and I couldn't get it to flip over, easily, so I assume that a full bottle would be even more difficult.

I get the thrill you feel from doing it for the first time, but unless you can repeat the exploit at will, this was just dumb luck.
@Xolette8 жыл бұрын
I disagree. Yes, you need to have a few things line up-- a perfect bottle throw in which the bottle flips and lands at the target at target at the right time, good aim, and good timing. Each of those things take skill and over the course of those few days, I became better at each of those skill--I started having better bottle throws and became better with my timing. I began to realize I had to throw not at what I saw, but where I'd think the bottle would land... so I'd have to watch at where the bottle was in the air and make a decision in a split second as to wear to throw the knife. Many times I didn't throw the knife because I already knew the bottle throw was crap. So I disagree with it being dumb luck as this would be easier to replicate over and over if one decided to practice those skills all the time.
@EDK1058 жыл бұрын
The real question here is: Can you stick the knife with the water bottle?
