sadly a lot of this is common even in new full size fridges you can buy and also in ice cube makers it normally goes away but can sometimes take either 4 hours of non stop draining or time. you could run vinegar like this = amzn.to/3L4MCa6 through it and this should help. many people use this for cleaning their kurigs coffee machines ect

Yes, you have a maintenance flap at the back with a small hose. Take it off and smell it. In my case it was this one, I changed it and now the water tastes wonderful.

so, heres the deal ive reviewed maybe 20+ ice makers so far and 99% of them have bad taste, its a common practice and in most manuals it says this as well ( people ignore the manuals ) when using the ice maker for the first time you must Run a bunch of ice cycles with water to get the bad taste out, everyone should do this already just to flush the system so after a few full ice cycles the bad taste will go away

I made too much ice a few time, I lift the plastic lid and put the extra ice in the water well in hopes that it may help cool the water for quicker chilling. Also rather than get rid of my large glass mason jar pitcher that has a spout that I kept in the fridge I know I have it sitting on top of the icemaker and I use that instead of the upside down plastic jug 😬

thank you, we only use it now for bigger parties, or when we have people over or if we are invited somewhere and we bring a lot of ice - due to its size it takes up a lot of room, so for personal use we use a little ice maker

I wish this unit had 3 extra feature, 1. be able to be hooked up to a water line from a water filter system. 2. dispense normal temp water. 3. turn off coolong or heat as needed. then it will be a year around water appliance i can use.

I wish they engineered some kind of automatic top off system from aline in water connection would have been so awesome.

@@user-ck5rx1gz4b Some people pour in juice or unclean water into the machine. Thus it will become mouldy.Please only use clean water. As for ice making, you can power off the "ICE BLOCK" function then it will stop making ice. Are you saying you want a timer function for this feature?

Do you get any control over how much ice it gives you and/or can you open a door somewhere to get the ice out by scoop fulls? I always use a very large amount of ice at once and this seems to dispense 1 piece of ice every few seconds so I'd have to wait forever.

so you can open it if u want but it gives you a lot of item, you basically turn it on and keep it plugged in, it turns the water into ice awhile, and anytime you need ice it always has ice so you can get a cup full without waiting long for it
