I have seen some of the builds and thoughts video from this channel. All of the videos are very informative and honest. How do you only get only 2k4 subs is beyond me. Anyway, keep up with the good contents :)

I am sorry but your liquid cooling blue build @2:36 looks freakin sick , even though this video and build is 5 years old your blue watercooled build looks freakin badass lol. Sorry for my randomness but I just had to say that lol

I've never used water cooling before, and many people have said water leaking is a big constraint. I have used Air cooling my whole life. I do need a more quieter PC because whenever I record voice acting, you can hear fans in the background, and I tend to edit them out, which takes a while. I do use an arctic fan for my build. I've heard I might need a bigger pc case to fit a custom loop in my rig?

I've been thinking about doing a custom loop, but would it be worth it on a 4790k and and 1080ftw?

nice vid, however I would say that 2 360 mm rads with Vardar fans could disipatte heat better then a hyper 212 evo on a 7900x which would result in higher clocks
@v.aesthetic37647 жыл бұрын
Like I said in the video, if you need better cooling on air, all you have to do is increase the size of the heat sink and add more fans. Nobody that buys a $1000 processor is using a $35 air cooler.

great video...may i ask does not the case you use have much to do with what system you should choose,and also budget....air cooling is pretty cheap considering whereas liquid cooling can add almost a third or even half as much to the cost of the build,(i did notice you mention about costs in the video),but back to cases...some of them have terrible airflow whereas others are exceptional at moving air into and out of the case...maybe you should make this your next subject for this series,(if it is going to be a series of course),choosing the correct case for air or water

I'll be talking about that in an upcoming video, but case airflow is important for both air and water cooling.

I wouldst I have never built a air cooled system. Literally my first build had a water cooler. I just like the way they look in systems

Just in terms of sound for both options, doesn't air cooling have the potential to produce less sound than water cooling, because the minimum sound for both AIOs and custom loops is the pump sound? Are there reasons to discount this? Personally gone back and forth between a CPU AIO and Air for my next setup (in a Phanteks Evolv mATX TG), right now more toward Air due to wanting a non-blower/reference graphics card, which if I mounted a CPU AIO on top that would capture that heat, or if I mount it on the front I wouldn't be getting dust filtered intake if I went from either the top or the back, for the rest of the system.

It depends. The advantage of a custom loop is that usually you have bigger radiators(compared to aio) which are much more efficient and allows you to keep the fan speed to minimum reducing the noise a lot even under load. Yes, pumps will still produce a little bit of noise (they are pretty quiet) but at the end, in a full load scenario the fan of an air cooler will still be forced to speed up to 1500+ rpm becoming louder than a custom loop. Totally different story with aio, usually they uses asetek pumps which are pretty garbage and cheap fan that becomes really noisy over 60% of the speed. In your case I would recommend sticking with aircooling because the case has a bad airflow and liquid cooling it's not recommended. I built a custom loop in the evolv atx tg and I was disappointed by the temperatures higher than what I expected considering 2 360 radiators. After a couple of weeks I decided to remove top and front cover and saw the temperatures of both cpu and gpu decreasing by around 10°c.

Pumps are relatively quiet compared to fans spinning at a medium to high RPM, especially when you have multiple fans. Every use case is different though. For instance, if you build a low power/low heat generating machine, you can potentially get away with a very quiet air cooled system, and in some cases you may be able to cool the entire system passively.

Thanks HackerMan, essentially why I'm going air I think, also it's lighter, faster, less complicated than even an AIO. I'm sure for various setups custom loop and AIOs are great even superior to the highest air potential, but I'll see how I go.

I want to watercool because air cooling a threadripper is so noisy, but I'm looking at a shopping cart totaling almost 1000 just to cool the cpu it's ridiculous I think. I'm annoyed by the noise but am I that annoyed? And after I watercool it I have a feeling that's going to be the beginning of a new annoyance, maintenance.

Do you recommend AIO? like the masterliquid lite 120? I'd use it with either a Ryzen 5 1600 @4ghz OC or Ryzen 7 1700 @4ghz oc. Thanks!

AiO's are great.

Awesome! Is the masterliquid lite 120 good? (I don't know if you know it, but it's kinda low priced) for a ryzen 4ghz oc? Thank you for the answer!
@v.aesthetic37646 жыл бұрын
I'd go with a 240 if you can, but the 120 will get the job done.

I have a hyper212 evo and an i5-6600k, i want to try water cooling. Is the Corsair h100 worth? My motherboard is H110M-K and gpu is strix 1070, also i'm in a hot room.
@v.aesthetic37647 жыл бұрын
You won't really notice a performance gain, but the h100 should reduce the noise factor. The fan on the Hyper 212 tends to spin up and down pretty frequently.
@c1via7 жыл бұрын
So i can stick to Hyper 212?

think of these.does the $2000 gaming laptop have water cool system? only fan,so air cool is the best.
@ryeguy016 жыл бұрын
This is a terrible argument. You can't fit a watercooling loop in a laptop. It would also drive up costs.
