I'd love to see another video like this with a CPU included in the loop. From what I understand (and I could definitely be wrong, so if so please correct me) most people who do custom watercooling don't have separate loops for their CPU and GPU. I imagine most people who own this card pair it with a high-end CPU that's gonna dump another 100 watts or so into the loop, or more if you're overclocking, which makes me think the sweet spot is probably closer to 280mm or 360mm worth of rad, as opposed to 240.

@I_Like__bananas Жыл бұрын
@@AlexanderDinebier well, the 13900K wasn't out yet. But I believe a 480/2*240 rad will be more than enough for it while you don't OC the shit out of it. If you do you might get a little warm

I have a 9700k and a 5700 XT in an NZXT 200i (ITX mini), both water cooled. I have a 2 fan rad in the front, and a single in the back. Both are the EK slims. I have the 5700 XT core pegging 2050 all the time and 9700k at 5.0. The CPU will sometimes get up to 65 and the gpu stays around 55. There isn't a lot of air flow in the case, so I'm pretty happy with results.

I tried it all, and can say, put as much as you can radiators and pumps. It makes the water temp as close as possible to room temp. And putting more pumps, makes them work less hard and less noisy. I had, 3x140+2x140 with D5. Room delta was 5c. Now I have, 3x140+2x140+9x140+9x140 with 4x D5. Delta is nog 2c and cpu top temp dropped 5c, because of good headpressure.

Funny video it was. I have installed EKWB-block to my Asus rog strix RTX3090 and it works perfectly and block fitted as always, perfectly. I hate cutting thermal pads, otherwise installing block went quite easily. I use 2 radiators (35mm and 24mm) both with 2 fans. Overclocked to 2050MHz, card heats up to 66°C when overstressed using furmark-bench.

Fastest flow rate on the pump is not always best as it may not transfer heat as effectively in a low flow friction loop. This is also why the two 120 rads they tested were identical because the water had little time to transfer out of the loop.
@Tom--Ace
@Tom--Ace 2 жыл бұрын
Not true, I tested this extensively in my system and its false. Fast flow rate results in better temperatures overall every time, HOWEVER, slower flow rate increases delta between temps throughout the loop (I see as much as 8c difference between thermal probes after the GPU and after my radiator in my case) so depending on where you set up your thermal probes, you may think you're getting better temps but all you're seeing is a higher delta throughout the loop. Overall, running a pump faster always has a positive effect, albeit it's usually not a very large one past a certain point (depending on your loop and flow) and not worth it considering the noise I also found the advice that "loop order doesn't matter" complete BS in my small form factor build which reaches coolant temps of up to 50c. In that environment, delta can be as high as 8c as stated, so it's much better to have the CPU right after the radiator (CPU temps are more critical) and definitely not having the CPU after GPU

Using the 3M Novec 1230 for submersion cooling would be a cool video. Boils at under 50°C so not suitable for replacing liquids in a loop (would constantly form bubbles and create pressure), but submersion would work great. It has an evaporation rate 4x of water though, so would need a sealed container, unlike oil. Would be an interesting experiment definitely.
