Since I was the u-boat commander in this instance I can say that this was a severe error in judgement! I should have known. I went through it last fall and it was b*lls deep and I was thankful to have made it. Funny how a few months goes by and you forget how bad it was...until you don't.

Yeah we won’t make that mistake again.. I’ve submarined my previous bike a couple times.. once was at an enduro ride and I missed a sign redirecting around what I thought was a puddle.. I ended up in water above the seat 🤦🏻♂️😄

The beauty of 2-strokes.. in this case we just wrung out the air filter and gave it a tow/bump start and it fired back up… we called it a day so he could play it safe and change out his gearbox oil… i’ve drowned my old 2008 250 exc twice.. each time wringing out the air filter, flipping the bike upside down and removing the spark plug, draining the carb float bowl, and it was back in business.. I even finished rides and changed the gearbox oil after.. that engine bottom end was pretty indestructible 😄

@@EricGrieco Owners of elder GGs or Reijus (get a couple of those) have an extra allen bolt at the bottom of their engine which if unscrewed, all the water leaves your cylinder/crank without the use of flipping. Tip of the day!

i didn't see any alternatives really... someone knew that this was the only way through right? if there was an alternative to that lake, i guess it should be considered!

@@Achilleas7 we could have turned around and took a bypass but we didn’t think it was that deep because it hadn’t rained in a week and the other trails were pretty dry.. those darn beavers 🦫 and their dam building got us 😄 Lesson learned for that trail 😄

@@Achilleas7 Very kind you are 😂 …the beavers did a good job making a dam there.. who knows what lurks underneath 😄

@@EricGrieco Yeah, makes perfect sense! That lake was artificial! (and scary!) Some of the most heroic moments begin with stupidity bruh! ;-) We don't turn back for no beaver!! 😂 good job sailing through! ⛵⛵⛵
