Hi, could you boil the water to make it safer to drink?
@jaynesnetwork4 жыл бұрын
That would probably kill the bacteria.. It won't remove the dirt and junk.. you could probably filter with a Brita, to remove the particulate?? Thanks for the great comments!

A low cost Atmospheric water filter, for under $100! Now put it thru a Berkey water filter, and drop a multi-vitamin,/multi-mineral into the water to make it taste better!

Yes, It definitely needs to be filtered.. I have ha table to reverse osmosis water machine now!

Can a dehumidifier be used in low temperature to generate water?
@jaynesnetwork4 жыл бұрын
My guess us that it will be less effecting since there will probably be less water in the air, in a colder climate?? Also this may be less effective in a dessert or arid climate.. Remember the dehumidifier uses coldness to remove water from air.. so if the air is already cold.. then much of the water is probably already removed?? I was warned not to drink the water without further purification.. since the machine is probably very dirty and could have bacteria growing in it! With that being said, I did actually find a company that was producing a special machine to create drinking water in this same way.. It seems it was kind of expensive.. I'm sure running the dirty dehumidifier water though a reverse osmosis machine would clean it up though.. if it did not clog up the filters!! Thanks for the great comments!

@@jaynesnetwork Thanks for your response. Been using a Zero Water pitcher with 5 stage filtration with great success so far. Just found out that kerosene heaters produce moisture so the two together in the short term may still help produce water. Testing so far looks good.

@@DLJohnsonHonourofKings heavy metals cant be filtered by all filters, look into distillation , that may be better

Boil it catch the evaporated water from The boiling process Make sure to ozone it buy one of those ozone generators for water Sould be safe to go

Is this a Peltier mechanism?
@jaynesnetwork6 жыл бұрын
I believe it is a standard liquid refrigerant type dehumidifier. I do have a Peltier device. Maybe I'll have to make a video on that soon..
@alexwang9826 жыл бұрын
Yeah, a peltier mechanism is safer. It doesn’t contaminate with refrigerants, since it’s not by evaperation
@jaynesnetwork6 жыл бұрын
The refrigerants are contained in copper tubing. The problem is that it is probably hard to sterilize the inside of these units, so there is probably lots of bacteria living in these machines, so you wouldn't want to drink the water coming directly from one.. Probably if you put the water through an Reverse Osmosis machine afterwards, it would be clean. A peltier device is an interesting idea as well. If you designed a device from the ground up, that was easy to keep clean and free of bacteria with a peltier device, this would probably work as well. I was planning to use mine to generate electricity, but they can heat and cool too...

I bet you could take the machine apart, spray the coils with rubber and make a better water collection system just with coming up with your own idea. Good video. Take care.

Great idea... I did find a company that actually makes a device to take water from the air.. for drinking... the device was expensive though..

If your going to Run it through an RO it would be cheaper to just use tap water run through an RO filter.
@jaynesnetwork4 жыл бұрын
Yes that is true.. if you have access to tap water.. some places use air wells.. like in the desert... so this is a way to take water out of the air, if you have no other sources.. I actually found a company that was using this very idea to produce water.. but yes you are correct, RO is a much cheaper way of producing clean water.. if you have a source of dirty water at your disposal.. Thanks for the great comments!

Just filter the water through a zero water filter… should be safe to drink…. Maybe boil it too…

Sound like a good idea.. I have an RO machine now.. That might do the trick??
@errolcollins76475 жыл бұрын
Why filter the water? the same bacteria that is in the dehumidified water is in the air that you breath day in day out, through your nose and mouth. In an emergency situation you would just drink it and wouldn't care if the water was filter or gone through reverse osmosis. Also it is best if you got yourself a couple of solar panels and a converter in case of a power grid failure.
@jaynesnetwork5 жыл бұрын
Yes, I agree.. I have some other interesting filtering technology, that is supposed to be able to filter out bacteria and viruses from water.. without access to electricity.. Hopefully soon... So many Videos to make, and such little time!

Goes to show that water and air are the same thing but in a different state. 40 weeks in the womb breathing water and in real life it's just the same thing.
@cryptoworldgames3 жыл бұрын
you are making it less efficient because you covered up the intake, which runs motor harder and can burn it up

You are probably right! Thanks for the great comments!
