Water extraction from air is difficult in dryer climates. It works quite well in some areas but it’s not ideal in every area.

For the dozen people that said "oh this is only a ....", the guy basically admitted that in the first two and half minutes and later admitted this isn't new tech. The whole point is they are integrating it into their RV, just like everything else in their RV.

That is a really cool system. Only question I can think of is what is the minimum ambient temperature the unit can function in, or how does it handle freezing temperatures? I need to start saving my milk money to get one of these units. I figure I should have enough in about 2193 😁😁

It's an ac with water collection built in instead of extraction.

All of the negative comments. They can be frustrating if you let them be. But what I see is a couple/company that is innovating designs, techniques, construction and products that are badly needed in an industry that has become too comfortable with producing the same old junk. Plus the fact that these trailers are not really part of the RV industry. They've created their own niche that is sort of similar to the RV industry but really isn't. And the distinction becomes obvious once you stop trying to compare Living Vehicle to the RV industry.

Buy a dehumidifier and run it through a water filter, this “technology “ is as old as the air conditioning unit.
@ryukuseymour

Yeah we had them in emergency response trailers many years ago. Ours were portable and we had to roll them out and connect all of them to a 60kw generator which also supported our communication trailers.

To produce 5 gallons would require around 15 kWh. That's most of your solar panel production. Hope you don't need to run the A/C.

Yeah my air conditioner generates water to it's not really that big of a deal I mean you talking about generating water for my air which is what a normal you know regular small air conditioning unit does do that's why it needs a tube you know to carry the water out of the area of the air-conditioning so it's really not that big of an invention if it's already existing like the concept of generating water out of there is not a new idea
@BigTruckBigRV
@BigTruckBigRV Жыл бұрын
The concept of purifying it is new though. Dehumidifiers, ACs and even a soda can can pull water from the humidity in the air. Harnessing it, cleaning it, and serving to you is an entirely new concept for RVs. I think you know this as well.

@@BigTruckBigRVMany years ago we had portable water generators in our emergency response communication trailers. I suspect it's taken this long to get them built into campers because not everyone can roll around with the diesel generators we used to power them all. The high dollar solar system is the cherry on top here.
@cookingsherry8784
@cookingsherry8784 Жыл бұрын
Cool, he made a smaller, commercialized version of what NASA's been doing for over 50 years now. Still not worth it. I'm not sure the price since he didn't say, but if it's integrated into the half a million dollar model, that's like about a $100,000 glass of water. No, thanks! Even Fiji and Smart Water is cheaper than that! Plus, I think the areas where it would be most helpful or needed -- like the desert -- it would not work as well.

Everything available right now is very inefficient for water generation from the air. If you dont live in the Amazon forest, this won't give you the water needed. Big PASS!

So it's up to us to "save the planet" and live this way while the rest of the 99.98% live free? My system is a On the Go 16000 resin water softener outside that removes the hard water and the inside under my 5th wheel island sink I have a Watts Premier 4 filter button release reverse osmosis system. This system works so well I've installed six of them the last 20 years.

Cool technology Another black water saving tech would be a vacuum sealing toilet. Separate out the liquids, and the a vacuum sealed package is created for the solids. Very low energy requirements, and can just be added to the garbage. I do think propane incineration is probably the most eco friendly though.
