Very nicly explained. So if the valve is placed near the tank then the pressure would be less and less chance for pipes to burst or joint to leak.

Flowrate can be increased with same Internal diameter of different material like PVC pipe and other is mild steel pipe. Like PVC pipe has less relative roughness so flow rate can be increased or more than mild steel pipe.even we use same id for PVC and mild steel. For mild steel flow rate will be less with same id since it has more relative roughness. You can see chart provided by manufacturer while selecting pipelines.
