Water Instead of Oil 1979 IT175 Yamaha

Two nice old classics and I just found your site. Well done. What oil to gas mix do you run on these older bikes?

That's a 1977 IT175. 1979s have different engine guard, chain guide and centre stand mounts.

Matt, you need a blue or white frisbee, cut a hole in the center, trim the bottom flat and the IT has a make shift front number plate.

I have the thing, it's for something a little newer though so we have find a way to retro fit it.

What oil are you running in the crank case? Just picked up an it250e and haven't found a solid answer yet in spec sheets

I've had a few people ask, and I don't know the right answer. I just put in something that was wet-clutch safe.

I Have a old ds 80 she still runs like a top after not having a rebuilt in 20 years.

Syxxes Performance ok then its no problems. All the carbs that i have Been in to in dirtbikes have hade pilots around 35 så that cought my eye when you put in a 70 but I hopsmitt runs good now
