Water pipe insulation with a pool noodle

Insulating my water pipes with a pool noodle, the water company asked that we put a box over it in the winter but that came with some challenges.

Using this pool noodle insulation would probably be of benefit inside the dwelling in places where the pipes are visible. Perhaps it could reduce the amount of wasted water and some time in waiting for hot water to emerge from the faucet.

@@vanPlaas our pipes ended up bursting. Our house was built in 1981 so I guess it was bound to happen. It was extremely cold. I not only used the noodles, but lots of plastic and towels as well.

Dig the dirt down a few inches/centimeters first to get closer to the frost line and bury it.
