Best way to test it is a transparent pipe with no holes. As for this pipe with holes. Water comes out first instead of pushing upwards. Thats why it tested shorter than expected.

I think the pump meets the specs. The water height was lower than 2.4m because the holes reduce the pressure, the pipe shouldn't have any holes.

what's the brand of that pump?

I’m not sure but it looks to be some random Chinese brand

Very good video one question This can help me to join a filter for me Aquarium of 700 liters, I am planning to create a 700 liter aquarium, so I will have to create a 300 liter filter.... I would like to know if this water pump would be enough for this 700 liter?

Glad to see it works as advertised. Not only that but it comes in a cool color. Have a great evening. Best wishes Bob.

It is a cool color...lol I actually ordered 4 more after this little experiment.

Thanks, sadly these pumps did not last long at all, they started out good but a couple of months and they got very weak, still would run but pumped very little.

Looks like it will do the job and for only $15.49 .... hope they last for awhile. I was telling you to plug a couple holes early on in your video to see how far up the pvc pipe the water was going to go. I saw towards the end that you had done that and the 2.4m is probably a reality. Let me know how it goes after you decide what type of hose you're going to put on it. May pick up a couple to take when we go back next jan. Thanks for sharing!

It is pumping so much I had to divert some of the water away from the filter, the filter could not handle it all and started overflowing, I ordered 4 more, now to see if they last, so far so good.

@@workshoplife3740 did they last? I just ordered one like that from amazon.

Good way to test it. Would you get more height with a thinner pipe?
@jasonpatterson80916 жыл бұрын
It shouldn't make any substantial difference. Very, very narrow pipe is going to have more back pressure and lose head height, but for reasonable diameters they should be the same. The idea that's at play here is known as Pascal's Law, and it has some non-intuitive consequences. This is a big one, that the diameter or total volume of fluid in a container is not important when considering the pressure in it, only its height. Pascal was the original founder of hydraulics ,a french man ! correct me if i am wrong,i have studied decades ago about hydro/fall off pressure and reverse back pressured mass and negative pressured.so there is no need for me to google this subject,you seem very passionate on the subject :regards UK.

Ain't it just swell when something exceeds your expectations for once!

Yes, sure don't happen very often anymore, I ordered 4 more.
