I hope but ,don't think,your lovely wife will ever be able to appreciate your fine attention to detail. Your work is outstanding. I was inspired by You an " Boss of the Swamp". Built my own cabin off grid with little to no experience here in South western PA and I am continually inspired by your content. Your encouraging and humble. I wish the world had more men like you. Great work brother.

That scenery was absolutely awesome. It reminded me of when we had a small farm in Somerset, Ohio. To be able to walk through the woods and find a huge grapevine and swing from one side of the bank to the other! We had great fun as kids. I think I mentioned this once but my grandfather kept about an acre garden there. He'd go to the creek to get buckets of water and we'd help him. Then one day We got some very long tubing from the old barn. It was all curled up but we got it out in the sun and straightened it out We put the one end in the garden and it was long enough to reach up to part of the creek. We held that end down with a bunch of rocks and the water flowed. We literally flooded that garden on a hot summer day and then shut it off. My grandfather burst out laughing when he saw what we had done. Up at the fence row was a six foot gate. To the left was about 80 feet or more by about 6 feet full of red raspberries. On the right was black raspberries. My grandmother made red seedless raspberry jam. Your video of all that water and those creeks are what country life is all about. While you are still young, you should get yourself a half a dozen or more apple tree's etc so you not only have plenty of fruit but some to sell when you get enough growth on them. My favorite tree was about 20 feet from the kitchen door and it was a green pear tree. Wow... delicious right off the tree or even baked. Those 50 acres could hold a ton of fruit trees that would be a nice income in years to come.
@50Acres Жыл бұрын
We are really glad to be able to remind you of such fond memories. Flooding the creek now that’s funny. I wonder if you could have used it for irrigation. I really really need to get on those fruit trees! I have been taking paw paw seeds from other locations and scattering them. Paw Paws that grow near each other are often genetically the same tree and this can’t pollinate each other. By introducing different trees you get more fruit. Paw Paws being pollinated by flies generally produce much less fruit than other trees because flies just aren’t that great at pollination
