"I was changing out a water service from main to the meter and had to do it under pressure, when you do this under pressure you have the time length of the whole filling up with water to do it which is about 15 seconds when you slide the saddle over the whole. You cannot make a mistake when doing this. Results was got a wet butt and task complete"

@@conversemusic9762 the saddle. Looks like they were trying to tap the pipe (install a new line off the main) and somehow managed to pop a hole in it before the saddle got fully positioned and locked down. Normally you’d bolt it on first, then use a special drill that screws onto the pipe fitting coming off the saddle to put a hole into the main line. Then you retract the drill, shut off the valve on the pipe fitting, and remove the drill, leaving you with a ready-made fitting for new pipe without any of this mess.

I remember cutting a 1 inch copper line, under 90 lbs pressure, one winter day. The sidewalk guys ran over 5 meter boxes and kinked the lines. I had to expose the pipe below the kink and excavate it enough for the pipe cutter. I had a 2 foot piece with a compression coupler on one end and an AMS on the other. There was a good 30 foot geyser until I slammed that pup on, and managed to wrench the fitting tight. Then it was rebend the pipe, mark for cut, and repeat with just an AMS. Then reinstall the meter and reset the box for grade. All in 28°f in a t-shirt because I knew I'd need a dry jacket when I got done. They said you could hear me a block away M-Fing those sidewalk guys. Gotta love them Vegas winters.

I work in water distribution/treatment. The first thing that stood out to me was the water spraying up at those power lines. My next thought was that there should have been a length of hose on the end of that corp stop. It worked out and they got it replaced, well done.
