Water Supply for Aerial Devices

If this is a fire truck and It is going to a fire why would it not have at least enough water on it to spray for 2 or 3 minutes so the fire doesn't get out of control while they are looking for a hydrant? Or at least be flowed by a water truck that Has water in it?

This truck has a pump on it, so it most likely has a 200-500 gallon water tank on it. That's enough to supply a handline for a few minutes while the truck is getting hooked up to a hydrant. The ladder pipe is going to flow over 1000 gallons per minute, so it will definitely need a water source very quickly--not to mention that if you are using the ladder pipe, you have probably lost the original fire building. That all being said, many departments use ladder trucks without pumps and water tanks because they use their truck companies for truck company ops like search, rescue, and ventilation and expect that an engine company will be arriving first or soon after the ladder truck to spray water. In this video, the ladder is being supplied by a hydrant directly and an engine.
