I worked Seismic Drilling my entire working career. I have drilled many water wells for Crew Encampments and local villages in the Middle East and Africa. Nothing more satisfying than watching pure clean water come out of a plastic pipe in the middle of a Desert knowing God gave you the knowledge and equipment to do such of a thing.

I had a rig just like this in north east Nebraska back in the 70s. Put a lot of holes in the ground. Had a ford truck with a screaming 289 on it. Sure miss those days. We had 15 ft drill stem same kind of mud pan . Then my boss sold it and got me a brand new port a drill 4 in. Pipe and a big mud pump. Just was not the same.

That looks like a mayhew 1000 to me. Possible shortened to 15' set up, unless it was a stock Option. Ive got a 1000 with 20' rods. Amazing machine, 1976, keep it simple stupid tec

You need a platform in the middle for your worker to stand on like we got on our drilling T3W Ingersoll OSHA turn onto us so we had to put one back there because of the person that was working for us to standing there

A rotary well rig "table drive" using a mud pump slurry method they are drilling in unconsolidated material they circulate water and bentonite clay to clean the hole and stabilize the walls of the borehole. The end looks like back filling and grouting the annular space and looks like using air to develop the well. Nice seeing different rigs and styles we are NW OH called the Tri-State area IN/MI/OH we are 3rd generation run a GD 1000 mud/air since early 80s grew up B/E 20W mid 60s dad started and me 1973 was 13 we drill and repair points to 12'' systems up here we average 100+' deepest ever been 300' we have flowing wells and rock too. Good work !

How do you know when you hit good water?
@SPIDERMURPHY-np8bj Жыл бұрын
Easy way to check is to put a handful of wet sand from the bore hole on a flat surface and tap it with two fingers. If water surfaces, the sand is holding water and it lets you know it's a Water Sand. Not all sand holds water.
