Full video: • WATER WORLDS: Hideouts...
Far beyond Earth, a new type of alien water planet could be speckling our galaxy by the billions, like cosmic dew drops.
These “Hycean Planets” range up to ten times the mass of the Earth, containing mega-oceans that could stretch down hundreds of kilometers.
Their extreme pressures keep their water liquid across a wide range of temperatures, broadening the zone in which they could host life. And researchers now believe that these worlds are extremely common in the universe.
Soon we will get our first peek into the atmosphere of a possible Hycean world, K2-18b, thanks to the James Webb Space Telescope. What secrets will these ocean worlds reveal? Is something out there, swimming freely in an ocean more vast that we can imagine?

Some of those planets even have a hot type of ice called ice 7. Because of the density of the water in those depths you get a completely alien state of water. I bet they are paradises of life

They seem pretty hostile for life to me. Nutrients would be too dilute in the oceans and the pressures would be extreme. I don’t think a creature with the size of earth would be realistic. The planets are bigger than earth but not infinitely bigger. A creature of that size would collapse under its own weight especially on a huge planet. Gravity is a thing. Also, think about energy consumption, how much food would they need? A creature of that size would attract nearby asteroids and could even have its own moon(s), so it doesn’t really make much sense to assume a creature can be that big.

@@dietertheanteater bro. Thing is. We can’t say that for sure, evolution and adaptation exist, it might not be as masssive as the earth but sizing isn’t impossible, and who’s to say on other planets they don’t have treelike structures taller than skyscrapers ? We don’t know lol that’s what makes it so fascinating

It literally couldn't work. Just think of one thing such as blood vessels - they would have to be so thick to withstand the pressures required to pump blood throughout such a ridiculously large body, that they couldn't flex. There are physiological size limits to creatures. In spite of distance to earth, limits will still exist - this is the real universe.
