@@albertthepeacock8020 They weren't anticipating an ambush within their own war machines. They figured they'd be blasting lasers from their divine beasts more than any hand-to-hand combat. Plus, I don't think it's so much that they had little in the way of weapons; it's more a combination of Link being a one-man army in the standard gameplay, carrying around more weapons than any even slightly sane person would consider carrying, and game mechanics not being 100% in-sync with lore. I mean, some of the items you get in the blight rematches are probably *more* than what the champions would have realistically been carrying on their person; the champions had their signature weapons on hand, plus some minor backup items that would have made sense for each of them given their respective culture's weapons and fighting styles. The champion weapons can break in the game mechanics but probably don't break in the lore, so their extra weapons were more likely for in case they got disarmed of their main weapon, or their main weapon proving ineffective, rather than needing to worry about stuff breaking.

Now I didn't do this on master mode so I don't know how different it is. But what I did on the last phase was use Cryonosis to break all but one ice block and then used stasis to freeze the last one right in front of me and then launched it at waterblight.

This show really is fun. As someone who has been playing this game since it came out, and is still not so good at it, it's really fun to see someone else who IS good at it, but still has some bad things happen. So many people would just be no-damaging through the Sword Trial, or some other thing, and it gives me hope that I, too, might someday finish a few of the things I haven't (Sword Trial), even if I'll never be this good at it. Looking forward to the other Blights.

This comment speaks to me on a personal level. I only found the game in January of 2022, but I’ve been obsessed and have already spent….well, many hundreds of hours, let’s say. I’m still very bad at anything requiring composure under pressure and _this_ fight took me 6 or 7 tries on my most recent game. Thunderblight, first try. Last time it was reversed. But regardless, most people I watch have thousands of hours in the game. They make everything look effortless. But lots still first-try these things on first play-through, somehow. Good habits from other games? I’ve had to straight up practice things to learn them. Like sit for hours to practice controls for things. But it works, even for me. I wonder whether you feel like you got good at this game, 2 yrs later, when you’ve likely moved on :D.

Water blight Ganon is easy because of urbosa’s fury. If you can get a couple flurry rushes in the beginning and urbosa fury twice you’re pretty much almost there. Then all you have to do is use revali’s gale to launch link and shoot it a couple times in the eye to stun and that’s pretty much it.

You can stasis the ice blocks when there right next to you, spam your spear on them and then destasis the ice. The ice block will rocket back at waterblight and do a decent amount of damage

I’ve been playing Tears of the Kingdom recently but am planning to head back to Breath of the Wild and try it on master mode. Watching this remind me of how well the champions abilities we integrated into our move set! Having to chase down a sage (who may be pretty far away or in an unhelpful spot and often obscure your line of sight) and confirm twice before using their power is incredibly clunky in comparison! You can also get the problem of accidentally triggering a sage’s power (which you can’t seem to cancel) at inopportune moments. I know you could accidentally trigger Urbosa’s fury in BotW but you weren’t missing out on anything if you kept it mostly disabled and only turned it on during combat. Breath of the Wild is 100% my favourite and I love binge watching Danny’s gameplay of it!

Danny, you are supposed hit all but one iceblock with cryo, (you have to be on the platform adjacent to him for it to work) and then you have to stasis the last one and crank it up. It will fly back at him and hit him, causing him to fall down and you can swim over to him and hit him.

You can stasis Waterblight's cryonis blocks and uh. Hit them back at Waterblight. It knocks him down and does some pretty decent damage.

I had a very similar experience. Literally expended all weapons and arrows down to the last trident. Threw it on a hail-Mary and nearly dropped my controller when it hit. Managed to save the video of those final seconds.
