Does the painting back and forth over the same spot necessitate using extra heavy paper?

My purpose as a painter is to capture the form structure I see. This is not like a dreamy graffiti process but an extremely frustrating and slow reward involving the mixing of colours t exact specifications. Only when the visual compliments reality am I moved to return to the work, knowing there will be a reasonable completion. Someone has said that the most difficult activity is to paint the eyes of a model correctly.

Thanks for your great content. Can you please tell me how you stretch your watercolor paper. Do you soak it before taping it down? Also I see you have taped the paper onto canvas using masking tape. Why is this and does it work better. Please explain. Thanks.
