Fish provide a calming effect for people, I had an aquarium in my classroom. Watching you paint this fish was almost a “zen” moment! I love that you added the details to the fins because those details are present in many real fish. I going to try this, but it might be above my skill level at the moment!! But, I will keep trying!

Really beautiful. How did you get the look of scales. You mentioned it briefly when you were working on the eyes.

I just used a little dark orange with a very small brush to make a few scale shapes around the gill area.

Love the orange bleed into the fin at the end and how the colors flow!😍. I was wondering what size your journal is. I bought one through your link and received the smaller one. My fault for not paying attention to the size. Amazon seems to go out of stock on the cold press version of this journal often and I haven’t seen the larger journal as an option since Ive been checking. Just wondering. Thanks for another beautiful tutorial. 😊

The biggest problem is the cold press goes out of stock often. I usually order two when I see them come into stock again I use the 6x9 size.

Similar thing happened to me. I bought a WN sketchbook from Amazon but didn’t check the dimensions. It was a lot smaller than I expected. The Arche’s sketchbook is only a little bigger.

Everything looks bigger in the pic. 😊 In this case Shana’s link brought me to the smaller cold press journal automatically because the larger one was out of stock. I didn’t realize that when I bought it. Now both cold press journal sizes are out of stock on Amazon. If you click on her link now it brings you to the small HOT press journal. This has also happened to me before. That’s why I was wondering what size Shana actually had.
