I hope they save people some time and frustration. More time for the fun part of painting.

Beginning watercolorist here, and I've watched a lot of masking/frisket applications..i really like your ideas. Thank you. After trying and failing to get precise fine lines with a brush and cocktail stick...I am ready to skip this process somehow. I've heard it's often s love/hate relationship with Artists and frisket.

These worked well for me. For fine lines the toothpick in the lead holder worked great. Sometimes I'll put a thin layer of superglue on the toothpick and let it dry so it is slick and lets go of the frisket even better, but it isn't strictly necessary. After a few tries it works well. Also slowing down helps. Think of how precisely you put in the final detailed lines of a painting, and that is about the speed you want to put in fine lines with the frisket. It is hard to be that patient at the beginning of a painting, but it really pays off later.
