Mr. Cartwright, Thank you for this very good tutorial. I painted it and added a cowboy on a horse sillouette riding along the coast. I appreciate your great talent. Don Sylvester Houston, Texas

Learned so much from this session! Especially about the reflections, light in sky a tone darker and the darks a tone lighter. From your past sessions I learned about wetting the back of paper and board, saving taping. I love doing it this way. Thank you again!

Beautiful ! Question, before starting with the orange reflection, do you let the the foliage dry to avoid bleeding? And do you wet the backside again?
@JoeCartwright Жыл бұрын
The orange reflection in the water is done before the foliage is done. I only wet the back if I need to.

@@JoeCartwright I'm sorry if I wasn't clear about my question. I mean at the moment of 31:04 when you start painting the darker orange. There's already foliage in the background
@JoeCartwright Жыл бұрын
@@giespel68 Oh, I see. Yes, if you notice the paint from the foliage bleeds into the orange wash, that means the foliage was still wet. I often do this on purpose, though in this case it was not needed, just allowed me to keep painting. I may have mentioned such later in the video - though I may have edited out. 😞

Lovely Joe! I have your first book and learning a lot from it. Is the palette you are using in this video available to purchase anywhere? Thanks.
@JoeCartwright Жыл бұрын
Yes, it is Angela, I designed it myself and print it on a 3D printer. The price is $60 Australian plus postage. They take quite a while to produce.
