Oh yes, I like the fence! It looks like Grandma ‘s old fashion roses… they grow wild around and over old fence rows…sweet

My house is surrounded by rose bushes coming into bloom. I take photos of them every year, but haven't dared attempt a painting --until now. You've given me a way to plunge in, and just go for it! I would love for you to show us how to add a blue sky to a painting like this --easy if there weren't lots of roses sticking up. It's a problem I've wondered about with other paintings I've done...

I am going crazy with my rose bush. I rescued it from a neighbor and it was major neglected. I had it looking pretty good with lots of blooms then planted it in the ground and now there are no roses. I hope it's due to shock of replanting. But I live in Florida so it could be the heat, etc. Guess I better try to watercolor one like yours and hope for the best. Thanks Ellen. It is so pretty.

Hi Ellen, I am so enjoying your tutorials. Very informative and listening to you and especially your giggle makes me happy! As an artist I guess you could call me a couple steps above beginner. I did watercolor years ago but have currently gotten into oils. However I love painting watercolor Christmas cards for my family and friends. I've decided I need better brushes. Can you please advise me on a good set of different sizes? Also I've been using a white plate for my pallet - not very happy with it. Any suggestions on that would be helpful. Thank you so much and keep giving us the tutorials.

I absolutely love this!! Your roses are beautiful!! This is the kind of rose I want to learn to paint. I really like the fence, too. I think I’ll make mine a little wider..might not work, but I’ll give it a try. I would love to see this or something like this painted in gouache...hint, hint...lol.
