Lovely fox! Nice tip too! I have found over the years that different brands also need different times to “get wet” and the higher mineral content the longer you need to pre-wet you. Dry paint. I love watercolor paint that uses honey, it just stays wet longer and will re-wet easier. I am glad that you are working on a new working balance for you and your channel! Stay healthy and be safe. Thank you for sharing your time with us, have a wonderful day!

Honestly, I almost never need to pre wet my dried paints. It's useful for a few particularly difficult pigments, but it makes no difference for the majority of my paints. It'll depend a bit on your local climate, too. A drier climate will dry out your paint more, so it'll take more water to reconstitute.

I think is about the brand, I find W&N need a pre wet phase to work. That's why I don't use that brand very much, most of my paints are from other brands and I don't have to rewet them. Also the climate, yeah, I agree with that.

@@AnaCrisisBlu Yeah, different brands have different formulas, some are definitely "drier" than others. M Graham is on the other extreme, notorious for never really solidifying unless you're somewhere exceptionally dry. Formulas with honey are generally easier to rewet since honey works as a humectant and draws a certain amount of moisture from the air. Where I live, Sennelier stays tacky but not runny all year round, while most others dry completely to the touch. But it's also different for different pigments - viridian and terre vert are pretty notorious for being difficult to rewet across brands, and potter's pink too (yinmn blue, a very new pigment, can have that problem too - especially some of the earliest watercolor formulations sometimes dried down to completely un-rewetable rocks). TLDR: It's complicated 😅

Great tip! I have been using wc for nearly 6 years now and was so thank full that my research into it prior helped me as I would have been so discouraged about it! :)

I prewet my colors by letting a drop of water fall into the pans I plan to use. And indeed, some brand/pigment combinations wet much better than others. I find my Cerulean Blue and Viridian Green wet really bad.
