There seem to be so many people on here whose desire for a capitalist meaning in life has consumed them - everything always has to have a purpose, a use, a monetary value, or be cheap entertainment. Brian McHaney​ clocks are also often made to be fun and to animate things. And time always flows and has a meaning. It's just fun to see some going. That's why we have totally weird and useless clocks. Things like proof of concept also exist

i dont get the point of this device... if you can draw something nice on your computer, then you can draw on paper by hand way better...just dont get it, like reinventing the wheel. as a school project its good, but kinda useless for drawing. Just sayin'

It's certainly not for everyone, and indeed, its main focus is education. But, there are things that it can do that confer the usual benefits of robot automation. For example, those of us who are not as gifted as you at painting by hand can design artwork on the computer, and paint by robot (which really does have a steady hand). And, it can make paintings or pencil drawings all day long without getting its hand tired. There are some artists who are using it that way, to make (for example) many copies of an art piece that will go in hotel rooms.
