Sensei your art is very lovely and your videos are very soothing and educational. I recently found your channel not long before your birthday stream and your videos have been a source of inspiration and relaxation for me during stressful college projects. I really appreciate the work you do here and how much care and heart you put into your videos. Thank you for creating them! Also about this particular video: seeing the development of the art over the course of the video was mesmerizing. It's amazing how a few lines of color can be transformed into something amazing with some creativity and careful application.

Perfect timing for this video to come out, I was just about to start my third painting with these exact pastels. I always wanted to try out proper oil painting but so far I haven't given it a chance as the preparation seems to be a bit more complicated than what I'm used to. Then a couple days ago I saw these pastels in my local store and bought them without knowing anything about pastels or oil. So far I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing but it's a lot of fun to be able to push the paint around after it's been applied to the paper, especially with thicker layers. I guess this might be the middle ground between painting and drawing, it doesn't seem very forgiving but I'm really enjoying it. According to the note in the box you can also mix them with turpentine for better blending and they mention using them with other materials such as sand, sawdust and even glass and metal. I'm glad that they've included a basic guide/suggestions for newcomers like me as I had no idea these combinations were even possible.

The final result of the painting is just astounding. Another reason I always love about Shibasaki-sensei is how Sensei always shows how you can produce incredible art even with art materials purchased from 100yen/Dollar stores, at the same time also feature and emphasize the extra performance of art materials with larger price tags.

I just invested in a Sennelier watercolor. I love their shop here in Paris. The oil pastels is what I actually first bought from them because I needed gold for my bullet journal. I'm so happy to see Shibasaki sensei work with them. Edit: So amazed Sensei! Your art is so appropriate and worth the material.
