I thought the same as you, the darker embossed card went better with the card base. The other was pretty too, but not with the base you had.

What paper did you use, should it be water colouring paper?

I use Francheville 300gsm cardstock. This isn't a water colour paper but holds up really well with water. Absolutely could your water colour cardstock as well! :)

my water color pens on the folder look like yours after you have spritzed and before i do it. what am i doing wrong??

not quite sure I understand. You mean they are beading up before you spritz with water? It could be the plastic. It should really effect the out come tho.
