Joanne Boon Thomas shares her Watercolour softening off and negative painting techniques
using flowers such as Hydrangea and Alliym as inspiration. The techniques Joanne shares can be used to paint any subject matter including florals.

I painted your brill demo of the "Monochromatic Riverside Landscape" last evening (such amazing techniques in there!), so going to this tutorial was a no brainer. Hydrangeas are my favorite flower, but they have always so intimidated me because of all of the detail, but with your softening off technique, I know I can do this!
