Interesting and very helpful tutorial. I like the way you build you painting with lots of light values. Lots of American artists paint with too thick of s mixes and loose all the pretty effects of this delicate medium. I was curious about your brush but found someone already asked you that. I prefer this kind of rounder point on brushes but for some reason every single brush I buy is too pointy. I know I can’t trim the tips up I just hope they will naturally wear out to a round point for me.
@lavonnecarrick22385 жыл бұрын
Oleksandr Kozyr .of course you can trim the tips they are your brushes. Just try it on an inexpensive brush. Be adventurous. Come to think of it I think he is using a round brush. The negative painting is trickery.

What yellow is that on your palette to the left of cad yellow, between the cad yellow and raw sienna? I have only ever seen you use cad yellow but that yellow on your palette looks cooler, like a lemon. As always I really enjoy this Peter. You have really taught me a lot in the way of using negative shapes.
@peterwoolleyartist8 жыл бұрын
Hi Adam. Well spotted... that is indeed Lemon Yellow. If you take a close look at it, though, you'll see that it only ever gets used very rarely (it's a much cooler, almost acidic, yellow, better for cooler greens).
