I called in two Blackies and just as I was getting ready to squeeze off the first shot they dropped below the sky backcast and I wasn t able to see them untill they hit the.water and I saw the splash , then immediately fired, waiting for one or both to be silhouetted against the sky again. When neither did I waded over to where they landed and I killed both with my first and only shot. They were big Canadian redlegs and in perfect condition so I took them to a taxidermist that charged me $ 60. 00 apiece when the going rate was $ 35. but they did such a fine job I had no complaints. I had them mounted with their feet out and wings cupped like they were landing. Their heads and necks outstretched like they are looking at their landing spot I hung them with fishing line over my TV and for years friends loved my blackies landing in my living room. Thanks.

Thanks man. Because of the money you’ll notice we learned to do our own mounts which cuts the cost about 90% and now we’re only limited by our time if we want to do one.

Interesting video! Cool teal trifecta! We never get cinnamons in AR. I wanted to point out that your fact about the ducks feet having no blood vessels or nerves is incorrect. Of course they do! Ever shot a duck that had bloody legs and feet? I'm not sure where that myth came from but lots of people say it. Here's a link to the facts about how ducks feet don't get cold. askanaturalist.com/why-don%E2%80%99t-ducks%E2%80%99-feet-freeze/

not trying to be mean or anything but I think it's wrong to kill animals just for taxidermy, I understand if they are already dead though.
@MidValleyMercenaries5 жыл бұрын
Believe it or not I totally agree with you. We do not kill these just to mount. We eat everything we kill and we respect the animals or birds we harvest. I don’t think it’s right either just to kill for Taxidermy
