As the battle rages on Marshal Ney mistakenly thinks the British are retreating and orders a mass cavalry charge to sweep them from the field and claim victory. As the French cavalry charge over the ridge they find Wellington's forces formed in defensive squares and ready to receive them.
The eight track from the soundtrack to the 1970 historical epic film Waterloo, directed by Sergey Bondarchuk and starring Rod Steiger as Napoleon and Christopher Plummer as Wellington. The accompanying soundtrack was composed by Nino Rota.
