Playing Napoleon is great! I feel like either side could win especially the games of hardest difficulty. But playing Wellington was disappointing, I just kept winning with little effort. So I made it more challenging for Wellington to win by modifying the BOT rules for the French. I added to French BOT roll of one: If Prussian have 2 units on game board move one French Reserve unit to reinforce I Corps. Then the given "4 Prussion" option and the "otherwise" option. I added to French BOT roll of four: at the end: BUT, If there is only one Guard unit left after the attack move the last Guard unit to reinforce I Corps. I also add to the French BOT rolls of five or six that after the Cavalry attack: if 3 Cavalry units still remain move one to reinforce it's adjacent Corps. (Dragoons could dismount and use their muskets :). Lastly I changed the BOT 6 roll on the "Tactical Events" to remove 2 Allied Infantry units rather than just the one. Finally it was fun and quite challenging playing Wellington too! I also made a larger board and used my Napoleonic minitures for hits. Great game!

Thanks for sharing your experience. I haven't had the occasion to play this in awhile. I will consider your suggestions to make the British side more challenging.

I like the quote. My game wasn’t that close though.

@@EricsTableNapoleonicBattles I have a couple of long plane trips coming up in a couple of weeks and your video has convinced me to bring the game with me to play. I received it as a Christmas present but had not found the inspiration to play it until now.

I think an error was made on 13:54. III Cavalry charged the Right Wing that was in square. III Cavalry Charge on Right Wing is -1 DRM while square is +2 DRM so +1 DRM in total. The roll was 4 which gives 5 after applying the +1 DRM so only 1 French Cavalry unit was destroyed instead of 2 in my opinion.

You are probably right. I think this was my second time playing through the game. It is a fun little game!

@@EricsTableNapoleonicBattles It didn't change the outcome. I also have the bookgame. There is also a version on tabletop simulator.

Eric, you are almost as good at solitaire playthroughs as the channel, 'My Own Worst Enemy', who specializes in that type of play. Solitaire play seems to be a good entry point for me into the hobby at this time, but I still will be wanting to explore both VASL and face to face opportunities before the end of this year.

Hi William. Thank you. I will have to check-out that channel. When you are ready to try playing vassal, you can post looking-for-an-opponent on either FB or the La Bat Discord server.

Are you suggesting I need to zoom in for future filming or that the designer of the game made the map too small? Let me know so I can do better.
