Ah thats fantastic mate, you will love it. Just knowing that the van is on your drive, ready to go on an adventure at any given moment is a great feeling. Even for day trips its a godsend... Welcome to the club and hopefully I will bump in to you on your travels... :)

Stayed there a couple of times but wont be back. Crazy busy, just as expensive and if you treat yourself to a waterside pitch (£75 ish a night now!!!) you just have the entire population of the site walking through your pitch to the lake with boards and canoes etc all day long. We even got up 1 morning and found a family eating their breakfast on the picnic table on our pitch barely 6' from our van! Worth also noting people get kit stolen there - paddleboards, canoes etc so there are signs around telling you to lock everything. There is zero site security and anyone can drive in/out and the Ullswater Way runs right past the pitches so non campers are constantly walking around there. Its a shame as the location is amazing, the walk into Pooley is great and access to the lake is great if the sun shines!

Whoa whoa whoa…you can’t claim to be doing family camping without the most important part of the family 🐶 especially after you said it was a dog friendly site. Being a tight Yorkshireman is one thing but forgetting to take your favourite child on holiday is sacrilege. I think Branston deserves a feature length episode of his own 😊

Haha an acceptable rant 😂😂! Sadly, he's not been very well recently. We even had to not take him on our holiday too :( - he's on the mend though and almost back to fighting fit :)

Terrible time to walk back in the room and hearing "can't wait to get my butty smashed in". Thought youtube had totally changed what i was watching :D lol. We stayed there during 50mph winds and left early but could see its a great site, hope to go back one day.

Fab video. I stayed at a different campsite near Pooley Bridge last year, and it might be controversial but I do prefer Pooley Bridge to Ambleside, I love it there and if you pick the right days there is a mobile fish and chip van that turns up and they do an awesome Chippy super. Also the campsite I stayed on had a burger trailer were you could get a cooked breakfast every morning if you wanted and bird song in the toilets. I need to go there again.

Colin I am gutted!! We have just returned from a trip in our MH from Parkfoot holiday park. Walked into Poole bridge and had a few treats from the big shop with a little door. I hope you treated yourself to a tankard with the rope as a handle 😎 awesome !!

For those that would like to know, Opening Dates The park will open from the 17th March until the 1st November A grass, non EHU pitch at the end of the season is now a more reasonable £19 for a campervan

Awesome, yeah you can hire them from the shop next to the lake... well worth it Branston wasn't well sadly, we couldn't even take him on holiday with us last week! He's back now though :)

We stayed there when we got married in 2009. Our very large group of 40 people were in the rally pitch. We got married at a hotel on the lake, had our reception on an Ullswater steamer then walked back to our pitches through the campsite. Our group were all dressed up, carrying bottles of champagne, walking past people in shorts and bathing suits. It was surreal lol The only downside were the thieves who took advantage of a rainstorm to break into peoples’ awnings and cars and steal a load of stuff. One of our crew had his mountain bike stolen. Also, don’t know if you’ll visit but Aira Force is a fantastic walk with a waterfall.
