your version of the trap is so much easer to do than the coiled coax fed back on it self type . trying to get 2 coils the same is a nightmare . love your version . building a trapped dipole hoping to get 10.15.and 20 this me just starting in ham radio game coming from cb radio (dare i say that)

Ah of course. All that talk of LPF/HPFs within the intermediate manual comes to light. Elementary! Thanks Peter!

I ran a Hustler 6BTV on the 15th (top) floor of an apartment building here in Akron, Ohio. Being a "Mull Dropper" on the 11-meter band I dominated the airwaves WITHOUT running an amplifier, I had an average daily footprint of a hundred miles! Summer weather in NE Ohio? You have - wait a few minutes and the weather will change! KD8EFQ/73

Great introduction to traps (for me at least) - be good to see how you would make one with your usual excellent commentary.

I am too low for the added 80 meters but trapped for 20/40 and one 10/15 sounds doable as I have 65 ft wide and a HOA limited to 18 ft. at apex. Not terribly efficient as could but for regional on 40 OK! Great video, now liets look at yor stock on traps!

Thanks, Peter! A thought: can traps be put on an end fed antenna? Maybe a series resonant circuit up to the center, followed by parallel resonant circuit after the center? Best from Canada. De Va2ldn.

I live in a flat I don't have a garden and I don't have anoth room for a 10 meter antenna for my small loft. I'm pulling my heir out. I want to do HF so much.

Try to wrap your antenna wire around the extreme edge of your loft. You might find that you have enough length for a half wave or if not then a quarter wave antenna

Hi Peter - here’s a challenge for you....my garden is about 10m x 5m with an metal roof awning that’s about half the height of the house covering about 9m x 3m - now I’m trying to find a solution to work 80m.... oh and am limited on height by the estate manager so no antenna can be visible from the road at the front of the house! Any suggestions?
