I saw this movie in a theater a whole month before it's release date (I was 16 years old at the time).... They used to screen the movies for the theater employees and allow them to watch them a month or so early. I got to do the same with "Sleepy Hollow" (with Johnny Depp), and quite a few others.... Damn I'm starting to feel old lol. One of the worst things that come with the "nostalgia" I feel when watching something like this,, is knowing that THIS is one of the LAST movies of its kind!! What I mean by that is, that it's one of the last "EPICS" to use PRACTICAL EFFECTS, instead of the C.G.I. they got so used to using throughout the years.... After "Jurassic Park", they went so crazy with the C.G.I., that I guess they felt that the only way to make a "GOOD" movie, was to go hamm with the "computer graphic imaging". When in TRUTH,, quite the OPPOSITE is the case... "The Thing", "The Fly", "Raiders Of The Lost Ark", "Blade Runner".... No C.G.I. in THESE movies, but yet we look back on them as being "the BEST movies to ever hit the big screen"!! And now, well.... Let's just say that I wish they'd go back to the old way of doing things. Sometimes the "old school" ways are the best!!
