God I miss those days. I used to love football so much. Since 2000 we've just drifted apart to the extent I no longer watch the game.

Like you I’ve fallen out of love with the game , it’s too woke , the players are overpaid and the tickets are far too expensive….. It’s no longer a working class game for the people……

I couldn't agree more. From a gooner. Too much tippitappi. No real football anymore.

What a player Barnesy was. Kendall should have bought him right after the game.

I was thinking exactly the same thing as I watched the game. How did Watford hang onto Barnes for so long ?
@mrlister20004 жыл бұрын
Everton refused to pay the £10k a week Barnes & his agent wanted, hence why he went to Liverpool.

And what then ? Drop Sheedy ? Have to remember it wasn't as much of a squad game back then.

I was 16 and these 2 clubs were massive back then. Don't think Watford won anything but they were high profile.

Wouldn't say Watford were ever maassive , but they were punching very much above their weight then.

They were always one of the smaller first division clubs

I suspect this was a club video - hence the naff commentating and duff camera work. I remember MOTD being more professional than that back then

Proper football before rich foreign businessmen turned it into a game of money and greed...look at man city now...from nothing to best in the world...all because of trillionaire arabs buying any player they want, paying them what they want etc...its just a huge personall game to them...like us playing cards...football is finished now...after following the blues from a little boy, i dont even watch ANY games now..there ate no real stars, and the richest clubs just dominate...its not about ability..its simply teams like city and not so long back chelsea...buying ALL of the best players...homegrown talent means jack shit now
