I have just finished interviewing 13 'soon to be graduated from college with Engineering Degrees' students from a division 1 school. My company does heat transfer, so I asked one question to all: what the 3 types of heat transfer are and please give an example of each. (Conduction, Convection and Radiation of course!) Only 2 candidates answered correctly and gave valid examples of each. These people are going to graduate college with Engineering Degrees and they hardly know anything!
