Tried the Watts Aqualock today. Purchased seven 1/2 in fittingss to replumb my motorhome shower. Finished the job, turned water on and one of the elbows leaked with water spraying out of the outside radius of the elbow, not where the pipes entered but in the middle of the fitting right at the seam. Made for a bad 1st impression.

Watched your video to try and understand what I did wrong with mine- line that runs to outside hose line blew in the terrible cold we had. Didn't realize I hadn't pushed it in hard enough, seems to have stopped! Thanks!

Very useful thanks. I wasn’t sure what the little black piece that goes inside the PEX was for. The little pamphlet didn’t mention it. Thanks.

also when "re-using" i've seen the Got2Learn channel say to re-apply some silicone grease because re-using removes sharkbite's factory lubrication

Regarding reusing the Watts Aqualock, why would you recut the pipe? There is no need to cut the copper pipe shorter if you are reusing the Watts Aqualock. You are correct that you can only use them once or twice or so. Because the inner rubber O rings have silicone on them. And that gets wiped off every time you insert a new pipe. After a few insertions, the silicone gets used up. But for your recutting the copper pipe, no. Just buy a new Watts Aqualock and insert it onto the copper pipe. After cleaning the copper pipe. (Or squirt some new silicone lube on the rubber O ring?) The old copper pipe is not degraded in any way by having the Watts Aqualock taken off. And for cleaning the copper pipe, don't use sandpaper, emery paper, or the wire brush you used. You want a completely smooth surface for the rubber O ring to contact. Copper pipe, CPVC, or Pex should be smooth, not rough and sanded on the outside.

Perfect!!! Wasn't sure what the insert was for. I am using copper pipe. Do not need it. Thanks!!!

Excellant. Took the mystery out of my first time use of this product. Do you have any advice on Buick Terraza brakes?

I've seen shark bites leak but I have not seen Watts leak that's because they have those C clips that makes the difference Shark bites don't have those Also, with the shark bites when under pressure if you move the pipe side to side they leak . I work on pools and spas and we put in auto levelors and we use pex pipe only with the Watts type None of them have leaked.I even did my own water heater and water softner going on 7 years no problems.

Great video. I’ve used the Watts brass before. Thoughts on the plastic Watts vs brass Watts? I’m using Pex so I imagine plastic is fine.

I haven't used the plastic ones but if I was using packs I would use plastic

I can’t get mine to disconnect….any ideas?? I had leaks so I pushed things tighter. Is it possible to push too far in?
@addismultitasking3504 Жыл бұрын
You cant push to far, Im guessing the tube or pipe has a burr or not cut straight
