Hey Chuck when using the cable clamps, some call them crosby clamps, or wire rope clamps, the golden rule is "Never saddle a dea horse 🐎 ". You can figure out which part is the saddle. The dead horse is the dead end of the cable. You have the live end under load and the other side is the dead end. Great video, place is really coming together quickly. 👍👍

Hey Chuck! Ken here. Your cabin is coming together well. We had that heat wave here in ns last weekend. First time I’ve ever gone deer hunting in a short sleeve shirt. Crazy. I’d bet you would be itching to get your home finished so you can move in. Looks very very nice from the sky. Natural like.

@bobdavis68622 жыл бұрын
Hi, I know is crazy to mention. I noticed while watching your video on theses panel you stalled with the front anchors strips that they are going over each of the panels to the solar portions which, depending on those type f panels, could hurt the output of the panels? I would suggest that you cut the strips back on each side a little as to not overlap onto the solar array. Enjoy watching all your videos, and many more😀
@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Will have a closer inspection now that you mentioned it but my goal was to install without putting any amount of direct pressure on the panel itself, but rather on the thicker frame. I know it worked fine on my last install but always worth a closer look. Tks bud

It is a one I brought through Walmart and the brand is Meterk. I really have no idea on how efficient it is yet though. Will wire in a meter somewhere along the way and hopefully get some readings
@jaylegere2 жыл бұрын
Hi Chuck. Any concerns that embers from the stove will damage the panels?
@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
I don’t think embers will pose much problem. However, I will monitor to see if over time they become cloudy with any smoke that does release. My last panels werent quite as close to the stack as these, but I’ve seen others who have had them closer even. One of those things that will tell the tale over time👍

wood solar support should be more than enough like you said. if you ever decide to go to a metal frame definitely look into unistrut. you can build anything out of that stuff

Hello guys! This is another great video. Can you please tell me the brand of your 1200 watt wind generator? Keep the videos coming. Thanks!

It came from Walmart and the brand name is Meterk. I’ll be honest with you in that I don’t have much faith in it compared to the Sunforce 600W I had previously. But, we will wait and see what happens!

Great setup Chuck . Question for you , how much noise does the wind generator produce? I have friends with them and theirs are super loud .
@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
I can’t hear this one from inside my cabin. However, outside I can certainly hear it. The thing about it is that you get used to it. I also have a train that isn’t far from heat and I don’t hear that now either lol. The trick with a windmill is avoid mounting the Pole to your cabin. I did this last time and the sound transmitted inside

How about some details on that wind generator Chuck. What brand is it and where did you purchase it? I have been doing a little research on them and haven't heard much good. People have been saying that they don't put out what they are supposed to. What is your experience with them? You said you had one for 12 years? What brand is it and how much does it put out? Any info would be appreciated Chuck.
@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
I haven’t got much faith in the wind generator yet. I still haven’t hooked it up but it is a Walmart product and made by a company called Meterk. It claims to be 1200 watts but I think that remains to be seen. My last wind generator was. Sunforce 600w and that one worked flawlessly.
