I was just a kid when this version came out... (I had only heard Michael Jackson and Bill Withers recordings), however even though I was a child and knew nothing of the kind of pain/blues Isaac laid down I was moved.... I thought love was only happiness and light until I "felt" the darkness of this track - a most powerful performance indeed!

My favorite record and song but that old that it is completely inaudible thanks very much for putting it on KZbin. "No one can honestly say their life is complete without having listened to this!" Agree.

Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine" is 1 of those classics, like Hoagy Carmichael's "Stardust," Beatles' "Yesterday," Dylan's "Knockin' on Heaven's Door," Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah," that it seems every musician's just gotta cover it. (Maybe it's some rite of passage / hazing; can't be in the union w/o it?) & there r some phenomenal renditions out there. Sting. Lenny Kravitz. A young Michael Jackson (!). Joe Cocker. Isaac Hanson (no joke). But this 1's a world apart. Thanks so much 4 posting it.

When a man comes to the realization that he isn"t really all that, no matter how tight you think your "mack game" is, and your whip appeal-you know what I mean is diminishing compared to what it used to be, that special lady who you dogged, played on and with has moved on-reality hits you. Reflect my brothers and you sisters, of all the women and men you've been with, did you really LOVE them or just LUST them. Real genuine, authentic love , that transparent, enduring, overcoming love comes once

No doubt about it, best EVAH!! No disrespect to MJ, Sting, Hanson (yes, really -- a very good one, too), Bill Withers (he did write it!), or any of the other great artists who've covered this over the years -- but this one's the gold standard, the ultimate. Total travesty that it wasn't here at YT for so long. Can't thank u enough for rectifying that, sushi!
