Very nice, a nice touch using Railroad Tycoon music! Also I like Jim's tank car!

Rain can't stop the train. I actually enjoy some challenging weather when playing trains. I have a roof my 15 inch line, so you are more of a trooper than I am.

I completely agree... when it's time to play, we've got to keep things rolling no matter what the weather! Would love to see some videos of your line, that sounds like the way to go...

Appreciate that, thanks for watching! We built her up a new tender frame for a new tank this past winter, feel free to check out that vid and the rest of the channel for a closer look too. :)

Smaller steam I have seen but stored in a home . And I thought how can this gage get use. As if you walk with this? But the video showed you can ride . I like this
@FoxIslandRailroadCo3 жыл бұрын
That’s right, we ride right along with these locomotives!! They’re surprisingly powerful, even the small engine shown in the first half of the video can easily pull 10 adults.

@@FoxIslandRailroadCo Doctor Edward Flowers in Rome Georgia, had a set o 5 engines but his large scale like this was forever in the storage of his home, and only he was allowed later to use them, I like this live steam,

Holliston, Massachusetts, but there are other private as well as public Live Steam clubs and organizations just like it in almost every state and country!

Beautiful engines! Did you happen to buy that duplex pump commercial or know where to get plans for one? Currently looking for one exactly like that
@FoxIslandRailroadCo3 жыл бұрын
Don Richie used to build those pumps, that’s his signature slightly modified Van Brocklin design. I was lucky enough to get on the list for the last batch, I think Don’s last run of pumps was in 2010, but you can definitely find the almost identical VB plans around, maybe Chaski, they’re a great design and are super easy to work on!!

.... that’s the pump on my 1” Pacific, of course. that big one on the Atlantic is an old Stan Barklay pump I believe.

@@FoxIslandRailroadCo legend! Thanks a lot, I’ll have to try finding those plans then. You’ve got some great videos I’m definitely keen to see your future content!

@@kalebpeart8458 Appreciate that brother, thanks for the kind words! Excited to get lots more videos and pics on the @LiveSteamNation instagram this year. I’ll do some searching as well and let you know if I come across those plans, I know Billy had drawings in 3/4”, 1”, and 1.5” scales

Thanks for posting. You mentioned new rings for the atlantic. Did it struggle during the run due to lack of power?
@FoxIslandRailroadCo3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Yes: unfortunately, during the initial rebuild of the locomotive, we didn't have a chance to address anything but the plumbing and the new boiler. I always planned to see how far I could run on those original valves, rings, bushings, etc... and last season was the failing point where the power was no longer suitable for my needs. Those parts didn't owe me anything, it's a miracle they lasted as many years as they did after rotting in a wet barn for as many years as they did before I got the locomotive, but definitely time to go all out on some well-deserved maintenance for the next year or so. Check out the latest updates and the last time she ran (with new piston rings, it's a start) this past January: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJuwm2iig9KUg68
