I was down at Haulover inlet last weekend and man was that a crazy scene! Between the fast outgoing tide plus the wind blown waves and shallow depth it made for some treacherous conditions that only the bigger boats would dare try going through. This is some great footage! It makes me want to take a day or two to just come down to the inlet pull up a chair and enjoy the show!

Will there even be boats on the water this year?? With fuel prices going the way they are I think we are all stuck at the dock this year. Alternatively you can show up to the marinas and tour the boats?

Good Afternoon All 😊: Another terrific video sir with superb editing 😀. Most captains are not aware of the ever changing water conditions until there in it 😀 . From a mild swell to a total SMASH AND GRAB event or if your lucky to be on a roller but then the bottom drops out, the bow drops then the next roller stuffs you. I fail to understand why some of these vessels are so close together either navigating the inlet or in the blender. Nobody wants to give way 😕. Another great video guys, TMP from N.J.

I think the zoom lens on the camera compresses the field of vision to make boats appear closer together

I say the mystery boat at about 5 minutes and 15 seconds is a big heavy wellcraft. You can tell by how sluggish it is. Like powering and anchor through water.

Amazing how the boats up here are so much less "gaudy" when there is not a bunch of bikinis around to impress.

So many of these boats seem out of balance, that is...stern heavy & bow light. A few could perform in big waves much better if balanced. I know a lot are pleasure boats, therefore hollow & empty forward compared with the weight of engines & tankage aft of the midline. It IS a liability though in terms of seaworthyness.
