Same here. I discovered them both pretty close together, either side of New Years 2019/2020. Instantly got close to obsessed with both. I haven't built a shrine to any of them or anything whacky like that, but sometimes, like when they release a new song, the impulse gets a bit closer than I should probably admit. Both bands and all eight of these women are so damn talented!

TW readily admit that Muse is one of their major inspirations. Ale especially adores Muse. When listening to audio-only tracks I find myself wishing that we could also see them performed live or in a video. I guess we have been spoiled in the past, and with the 4 great videos from the Mayday EP.

You just have to love the bass intro followed by those killer riffs, and excellent vocals by Dany, Animosity rocks. Great, you noticed that awesome bass slide by Ale too. Z is very catchy from the start, however, until I heard the full version, I thought it was only an instrumental song, but it's not. Just remember, we still have 6 more new songs coming, when? Nice reaction video Mr Wave Potter, I admire how you can pick up many elements of the composition with articulate commentary which many other reactors fail to do. A rare and really cool guitar solo in this track from Dany. I understand why Dany doesn't insert more guitar solo's in their songs, she doesn't want to emulate other metal/rock guitarists and just bung solo's in every song, she wants to move with great energy in their live performances not stand there shredding and Dany is very aware of what fits the songs, she has great feel and well its the warning style but this song with that cool beat is perfect for a solo and Dany delivers.

Another great song! Is it just me or am I hearing shades of The Pretenders' first LP ("Precious", "Mystery Achievement") in the guitar work here? Especially towards the end. The Pretenders early work was just raw and beautiful so the comparison is meant as a compliment. I love this band and how they're pulling in the old sounds and creating something new. ✌🤘

This EP is the most amazing thing they have released to date. If this is a sign of what's to come in the future, we're in for a long list of playlist quality songs. They have really matured, I remember Ale nailing a heavy MUSE baseline many years ago when the bass was larger than her. I love this band. I am so psyched at just how solid and tight this MAYDAY EP is. These two tracks are my favorite two, which says a lot because the entire EP is just hit after hit. rock on young ladies and ty for the awesome review Big Mac Wave Potter.

I enjoy that analysis. Disciple is still my favorite from Mayday, but Animosity and Evolve are nipping at its heels, and Z is in the running. I notice the second set of 3 songs in particular (Disciple, Animosity, and Z) have much more exposed bass lines than the first 3. They were all recorded at the same time, so I suppose it's simply a matter of the order in which they released them. Their themes are definitely not the all too common adolescent "sex and drugs and rock & roll" nonsense. Well, they do have one song about addiction, but Black Holes certainly does not glamorize it in any way!

Great reaction and I totally agree. The Warning is the only other rock band, other than Band Maid of course, that really matters right now. Head and shoulders above other bands in the genre, IMO. You should do a reaction to the full Queen Of The Murder Scene album. It’s a concept album and, as such , is best listened to in one sitting. It’s fantastic.

Animosity is probably one of my favorite songs but it's so hard to even come up with a top 5, hey I'm a big Babymetal fan as with the Warning you can watch them grow up to be these sensational artists BM is one of the greatest shows you will see but the song writing abilities and performance on stage is just mind blowing I was a fan before but now I'm a fan boy

The great thing about The Warning is that I have the feeling that they certainly have not hit their peak. They've got so much more in the tank. It's great to see you really enjoying their songs so much. Great genuine energy and expert opinion. It's a great time for female rock/metal bands like Band Maid, The Warning and Plush who toured this week as support act of Mammoth (Wolfgang Van Halen's band) and they will tour with Evanescence and Lzzy Hale in November; just to mention a few.

You can only hope that the next 6 songs will be equal to or better than those featured on the Mayday EP, The Warning and Lava Records would not have risked splitting the album release if they weren't sure everything is good.
