Ahhh, memories of my (4th or 5th) vanilla run throughs of the trilogy. I usually ran a Putter and a Driver [Makarov & ... getting to a SVD/SVU] or CQB [MP5 & Groza] worst run was VERY weight limited. A fair bit of load bearing from the 2x granades carried, the yump back to a chache to restock and go again. XD

Now, if only pistols were a bit more viable overall in Anomaly. Sure, 9x19 is solid enough as is, as it also doubles as a good SMG caliber for allround play... but man, everything else is just awful: 9x18 is noticably weaker against anything armored, even with AP rounds and that means you'll be hosing down bullets. .45 ACP is surprisingly heavy for the amount you'd want to have spare with a sidearm and .357 magnum is seemingly too weak for its price. I'd have loved to play Anomaly using a variety of pistols, but given you can't even put better sights on them (BaS fixes that at least), they're just worse alternatives to any other category.

Mp5a3 > bizon Really 9x18 is best if youre killing killing animals/small mutants. I even play survival mode and it works well, but its a bad idea in general going out in the zone with only 9x18 firearms

For anyone that is actually considering a pistol only run, try the USP Match, this is the only gun in anomaly (vanilla) that has .45 ACP damage values but the AP capabilities of 9x19, if you use AP rounds, Makarov is in fact weak yes 9x18 sucks

Have you considered doing an 100% run for Anomaly? Namely the 100% with the Invictus achievement. I know its considerably harder and incredibly annoying and I with many attempts still haven't done it but I thought it would be cool to see someone else get it.
