If there's one thing I'm happy that the patch did, it was giving Yamcha the ability to two-touch. Damage was one of his biggest issues before. And let me know Yamcha mains, but did giving him the ability to dash through his opponents twice make his mix-up game much better or is it a gimmick? With that being said, I just wish someone on dustloop would edit his page already. One of his cons is literally "Mediocrity" and he's not even the worst character in the game, lol. Dustloop even says "As seasonal updates kicked in, Yamcha was powercrept out and is often very overshadowed by other fighters..." No other character is cooked like this and it applies to so many. Not even SSJ Vegeta is cooked like this and I believe he's probably the worst in the game at this point

Yamcha main here, the double cross is absolutely a gimmick, it CAN work but you gotta build a LOT of respect and people already dont respect Yamcha

@@Kitsune986 what does help though is the ability to backdash twice during the rekka, that actually enables baits or same side punishes that just weren't possible with some characters that had big buttons, many times for example I would be trying to bait a DP, so instead of crossing or doing the frame trap I would back dash into 6M(the medium finisher) but the distance and timing made it that even If I called it, the DP would either still reach me(gohan's for example) or be so Active Yamcha runs into it anyways (like ssj4's) the double backdash lets you punish with H (the flash) or react for a possible tag with 2H. that does help but yeah, the double cross up is just there

Did Yamcha fall off the map in picks? He is still so strong. People are picking up the top tier picks. Yes they are strong. But not looking at the others. Yamcha is so good. The thing with Dragonball is if you get the hit. You can potentially kill a character. But it can be done with anyone. Yamcha has so many good moves for him. There are still solid picks in the command grabs of other characters. Especially if that itself leads to a tod.

Yamcha has good damage but abysmal neutral, it's really difficult for him to pickup a hit. Vegito and 21 have a lot of "fuck the neutral" moves, those things make them shine more than people realize
