Momma Nancy is the very 1st international female DJ from Jamaica, but she is not the very 1st female DJ in Jamaica. There was a female DJ before sister Nancy I don't remember if it was momma Liza,or Charmine. I am older than Nancy, also Brigadier Jerry ,I am going to dance from the 1960s. From the days when Machukie, King Stittich, URoy,IRoy,Dennis Alcapone, before man like Big Youth come in the business,Hugh Brown, Trevor Ranking, Luwie Leppkin, Ranking Joe, Sassafras, in the 1970s. The two most popular young DJS in the 1970s was number one was General Echo, and 2nd was Wilton Irie ,they were the only ones have music in the fraternity in Jamaica at the time. General Echo had his own sound systems named Echo Tone, he died in 1980,it is now 40years. I useto lived near to King Tubbys in 1960s and listening to the great URoy,when him and King Stittich a ruled the dance. It is really nice to see sister Nancy after decades, I remembered when she was a very young girl. I know when a few of those DJs trying to make a name for themselves, when quite of them useto left Kingston to Jack Ruby in Ocho Rios. When some of them DJs useto appears in Ocho Rios at the big bash by the white river, on Sunday. Those was the good old days, but there is nothing going on now adays.Sister Nancy still looking good for her age,she is a roots and culture female DJ. She always clean female DJ, no mixed up not like these younger females generation in Jamaica.Who is fighting over the DJ fraternity in Jamaica liked,is them created it.They are very stupid as Sister Nancy said,it is a round cake,and everyone can get a piece of it. There in no need for them to be tracing of each other, and trying to disgraced themselves in the public. I have saw a few videos where the females cursing out one another on stage ,into a very disgraceful manner, it is a terrible situation in Jamaica. Between the females DJs, they have loss their prides,and a very low esteemed about themselves, ok.
