People think that their car rattling is impressive. I find it far more impressive when a build like this is not rattling. It sounds better and is just another bit of attention to detail in the build. I've missed the build videos but I know how being busy gets in the way.

Sound dampening makes all the difference bro. I bought 2 boxes of 80 mil KILLMAT for the roof, trunk and doors of my car and will say it's the most improvement I've ever got for a hundred bucks. Less rattles, vibration, noise and just plain makes the audio system sound better.

Last year, I drew a crowd at an IASCA event with my Civic that had just two 15's sealed on 3K. My floors, doors, roof, and trunk lid were all treated and I had ZERO rattles. All they heard was clean bass. I just bought a different car in June of this year and I've done all four doors and the floor of the trunk, including the spare tire well. Next will be the floors, then the roof. After that, I will put my system in the new car. Doing sound treatment the right way takes time, but it's a gift that keeps on giving! It turns a system into a whole new listening experience! We like to put subs in a strong box, but it's even better when you put that strong box into a strong vehicle.

The single most PITA aspect of building a proper system but the single most beneficial. Nice work Steve.
@Chris_Wolfgram4 ай бұрын
Sound deadening is SUCH a PITA, but the difference is HUGE an undeniable ! I waited forever to do my truck, then once I finally did, I was like WHY the hell did I wait to so long ? Did my little Prius shortly thereafter. Will never own another vehicle that is not sound deadened, right from the get. And BTW, for anyone who is thinking, "Yea, but I don't have a slappin system like this, so I don't really need it".... Wrong. If you have a relatively small system, that's just as good of a reason to deaden your vehicle, to help you hear that weaker system over road noise .
