Pardon the dusty interior, this Yukon has been sitting in the shop for months waiting for us to finally do this. Better late then never! And WOW what a difference! 100% worth the effort. Don't forget to check out the rest of the build to see all the work that went into everything else. Thanks for watching if you did! (equipment list in the description)

People think that their car rattling is impressive. I find it far more impressive when a build like this is not rattling. It sounds better and is just another bit of attention to detail in the build. I've missed the build videos but I know how being busy gets in the way.

Sound dampening makes all the difference bro. I bought 2 boxes of 80 mil KILLMAT for the roof, trunk and doors of my car and will say it's the most improvement I've ever got for a hundred bucks. Less rattles, vibration, noise and just plain makes the audio system sound better.

same. I added 2 boxes total to my car. In the trunk and the inside of the 4 doors. It’s actually crazy

Last year, I drew a crowd at an IASCA event with my Civic that had just two 15's sealed on 3K. My floors, doors, roof, and trunk lid were all treated and I had ZERO rattles. All they heard was clean bass. I just bought a different car in June of this year and I've done all four doors and the floor of the trunk, including the spare tire well. Next will be the floors, then the roof. After that, I will put my system in the new car. Doing sound treatment the right way takes time, but it's a gift that keeps on giving! It turns a system into a whole new listening experience! We like to put subs in a strong box, but it's even better when you put that strong box into a strong vehicle.

After all years and another awesome build. 👌 I was in middle school in south sac in the mid 90s. There was a guy that had three purple or purplish blue cars, a suburban, a caprice coupe and a celebrity coupe and they all had big bass systems. He used to cruise by the school and beat the windows out. I’m willing to bet Steve knew the guy.

The single most PITA aspect of building a proper system but the single most beneficial. Nice work Steve.
@Chris_Wolfgram
@Chris_Wolfgram 4 ай бұрын
Sound deadening is SUCH a PITA, but the difference is HUGE an undeniable ! I waited forever to do my truck, then once I finally did, I was like WHY the hell did I wait to so long ? Did my little Prius shortly thereafter. Will never own another vehicle that is not sound deadened, right from the get. And BTW, for anyone who is thinking, "Yea, but I don't have a slappin system like this, so I don't really need it".... Wrong. If you have a relatively small system, that's just as good of a reason to deaden your vehicle, to help you hear that weaker system over road noise .

I'm curious why this wasn't done BEFORE you installed all that music? Once I learned what Dynamat was, gutting my cars and covering the interior was a must.

because I was dreading taking down that huge headliner. It's like 15 feet long and takes a lot of time. Please post a video or a link to one of your cars that you "gutted and covered" in Dynamat. Sounds like a tall tale to me. Cool story though.

Removing a headliner is ton of work. To get mine down. I've got to get the entire interior. Seat belts and everything.

I remember when I pulled my headliner out my tahoe to do it. 2 layers on the roof took me 3 days total lol.. my 2020 tahoe had the wires glues to tue headliner. Just rip the wires off and I just re glued them down lol

Initially those cross braces would have been bonded a little bit to the roof panel with that stock insulating foam stuff that's in there, the first time you bumped in there that was done for! hahaha

❤ Too bad you couldn't have flipped the truck over and filled the beams with Spectrum Sludge. I did that years ago with my trunk lid with a whole gallon (IB build) and it's one solid chunk now.
